Please mail or email* an application packet with the following materials directly to the Hamilton Arts Collective:

• Completed application form (download here)
• CV or resume
• Artist statement
• List of 3 references with contact information including phone number and email address.
• One-page letter of intent briefly detailing your interest in the Artist in Residence program and how it will benefit your artistic career, what you would like to accomplish while in residence and your experience with community involvement. 
• Work sample of artwork completed in the last 3 years:
• Visual artists: a CD with 10 images of work.  Images must be .jpg format and measure 1024 x 768 pixels at 72 dpi. 
• Writers: 3 writing samples, printed, double spaced , 12 pt font.  The combined writing samples should not total more than 8 pages.   Please include 3 copies of each sample.
• Musicians: an audio CD with 5 music samples.
• Performing and new media artists: a CD or DVD with 3 video samples up to 3 minutes in length.
• A corresponding file list for any work submitted on CD or DVD.  The list must include title, media (if applicable), size (if applicable), short explanation (if necessary) and date completed for each piece of artwork.

 

All work submitted on CD must have files labeled with their last name, first initial and slide number in the following format: smith_a_01.jpg, smith_a_02.jpg, etc.

*Applicants may also submit their applications via email.  All emailed submissions may be addressed to allyson@hamiltonarts.org and should include all the application materials (including work samples) as attachments. Please label all attachments with the applicant’s last name and first initial in the following format: smith_a_statement.doc, smith_a_cv.doc, etc.  Any files too big to send as attachments, such as music or video files, may be uploaded to www.wetransfer.com (make sure to use allyson@hamiltonarts.org for the “friend’s email” field and include your full name in the “message” field).  Alternatively, if your videos or music are available on sites such as youtube, vimeo or myspace, you may send us a link instead of uploading a file. 

Applications will be accepted between May 1st and May 31st. The postmark deadline for all applications is Tuesday, May 31, 2011. No late submissions or incomplete submissions will be considered. 
Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by phone or email by July 1.

All applications will be reviewed by a panel of artists, HAC board members and Hamilton community organizers.
